"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future -- it is something you DESIGN for the present." Jim Rohn

What is the definition of happiness?  What really makes you happy?

It is sad how many people go through life always thinking that happiness is something that is going to happen some day.....  When they win the lotto.... when they get the promotion..... when they are out of debt.... or meet the RIGHT person......

Happiness does not come from other people or material things.  Happiness comes from within.  It doesn't matter how much money you have, where you live or the car you drive.  Happiness isn't based on what you look like.  Losing that extra 10 lbs won't make you happy if you don't like yourself from the inside out.

Most people know when they are unhappy, yet don't know what it is that creates happiness in their lives.

As an exercise today, take a few minutes of quiet time.... just for you with no distractions.  Visualize the moments in your life when you felt alive and exhilarated....  THAT's what happiness feels like...

Replicating that feeling, day in and day out, no matter what life throws at you that day, is the first step in the journey...

  1. It is a New Year and a fresh start. Many people make New Year's Resolutions that are completely forgotten by next year at this time. Forget the resolutions that will set you up for disappointment and failure. Make goals. We have all heard "how do you eat an elephant?" and the answer is one bite at a time. The same should be said about life. Let's take our life "one bite at a time". Baby steps can lead to giant steps. Start today. Write them down and cross off each accomplishment one at a time. The key is not to feel pressured and overwhelmed. Keep your goals small and achievable. Once you have scored a victory, reward yourself and create a greater goal. Start today... make it a day of resolutions... not a year! Make 2019 your best year yet "one bite at a time."
    Cheers to your victories!
